Monitor Network Performance

Site24x7 provides a comprehensive network monitoring tool to ensure the health and performance of your network devices and interfaces. Automatically discover your devicessuch as routers, switches (including switch stacks), firewalls, and wireless LAN controllers (WLCs)and continuously monitor critical metrics such as CPU utilization, memory utilization, buffer hit stats, and more. This helps network admins monitor, visualize, optimize, and manage the network devices and their respective interfaces.

Prerequisites

Site24x7 Network Monitoring requires an On-Premise Poller to be installed in the network that is monitored. Both Windows and Linux flavours are supported.

System Requirements

Explore the system requirements for installing the On-Premise Poller to monitor your networks.

Supported Device Types

Supported SNMP Versions

Site24x7's Network Monitoring uses SNMP. SNMP mode is used to communicate with the remote devices and collect performance metrics. All the versions such as SNMP v1, SNMP v2, and SNMP v3 are supported.

Multiple credential support

Network discovery is simplified with multiple credential support. You can use multiple credentials at once in a network discovery and also share common credentials across devices.

Monitoring the network

Before monitoring your network with the devices and interfaces in it, you need to start by adding them.

Visualizing Network Monitoring

Obtain visual insights on your network performance using Layer 2 maps, topology maps, health dahsboards, and NOC view.

Custom SNMP Monitoring

Monitor any device from any vendor using our custom SNMP monitoring. Use device templates to add any device and monitor any metric using custom performance counters. Tabular OIDs can also be monitored using tabular performance counters.

SNMP trap processing

Stay on top your network and hardware issues, and take quick corrective actions by processing SNMP traps received from your network devices. Site24x7 instantly processes these traps and notifies you of the anomalies.

Setting thresholds for network attributes

The Threshold and Availability Profile for a network device helps you decide if a specific resource has to be declared Up, Trouble, or Down. Thresholds can also be configured for child attributes like network interfaces and performance counters.

Performance metrics

You can view the device performance snapshot under monitor details page. Inside the Site24x7 web client's home page, click on the respective network device to access the monitor details page.

Reports

Gather performance data of resources monitored and generate numerous reports. The following are the different types of reports that are available for Network Devices.
