Azure Managed Redis Monitoring Integration

Azure Cache for Redis is a fully managed, in-memory cache that enables high-performance and scalable architectures. Use this service to create a cache that provides high throughput and low-latency access to data by applications.

With Site24x7's integration with Azure Managed Redis, you can now monitor your Redis cache, configure thresholds, and receive alerts about critical issues.

Setup and configuration

You can add Azure Managed Redis while adding a new monitor or you can add it to an existing Azure monitor. Follow these steps to add the Azure Managed Redis service.

Supported metrics

The following metrics are collected:

Metric nameDescriptionStatisticUnit
Connected Clients The number of client connections to the cache Maximum Count
Total Operations The total number of operations processed by the cache server Total Count
Cache Hits The number of successful key lookups in the cache Total Count
Cache Misses The number of failed key lookups in the cache Total Count
Evicted Keys The number of items evicted from the cache Total Count
Expired Keys The number of items expired from the cache Total Count
Operations per Second The number of operations processed per second by the cache server Maximum Count/Second
Total Keys The total number of keys in the cache Maximum Count
Server Load The percentage of cycles in which the Redis server is busy processing Maximum Percent
CPU The CPU utilization of the Redis server as a percentage Maximum Percent

Configuration details

The following configuration details are collected and displayed:

Configuration parameterDescription
High Availability Status Indicates whether high availability is enabled for the Redis cache
Host Name The hostname of the Redis cache instance
Minimum TLS Version The minimum TLS version required for client connections
Provisioning State The current provisioning state of the Redis cache
Redundancy Mode The redundancy configuration of the Redis cache
Resource State The current operational state of the Redis cache resource
SKU The pricing tier and performance level of the Redis cache

Threshold configuration

Global configuration

  1. Go to the Admin section in the left navigation pane.
  2. Select Configuration Profiles from the left pane and choose the Threshold and Availability (+) tab from the drop-down menu. Click Add Threshold Profile from the top-right corner.
  3. Set the monitor type as Azure Managed Redis. You can now set the threshold values for all the metrics mentioned above.

Monitor-level configuration

  1. Go to Cloud > Azure and select Azure Managed Redis from the drop-down menu.
  2. Choose a resource for which you would like to set a threshold, then click the hamburger icon. Select Edit, which will direct you to the Edit Azure Managed Redis Monitor page.
  3. You can set the threshold values for the metrics by selecting Threshold and Availability. You can also configure IT Automation at the attribute level.

IT Automation

Site24x7 offers a set of exclusive IT Automation tools to auto-resolve performance degradation issues. These tools react to events proactively rather than waiting for manual intervention.
