Azure Traffic Manager Profile Monitoring Integration

Azure Traffic Manager profiles help you manage your application traffic and improve accessibility of applications.

With Site24x7's integration, you can now monitor your Traffic Manager profiles, configure thresholds, and receive alerts about critical issues.

Setup and configuration

You can add an Azure Traffic Manager Profile while adding a new monitor, or you can add it to an existing Azure monitor. Follow these steps to add the service.

Supported metrics

The following metrics are collected:

Metric nameDescriptionStatisticUnit
Endpoint Status by Endpoint The count is 1 if an endpoint's probe status is enabled and 0 if it is disabled Maximum Count
Queries by Endpoint Returned The total number of times a traffic manager endpoint is returned in the given time frame Total Count

Threshold configuration

Global configuration

  1. Go to the Admin section in the left navigation pane.
  2. Select Configuration Profiles from the left pane and choose the Threshold and Availability (+) tab from the drop-down menu. Click Add Threshold Profile from the top-right corner.
  3. Select Azure Traffic Manager Profile as the monitor type. You can now set the threshold values for all the metrics mentioned above.

Monitor-level configuration

  1. Go to Cloud > Azure and select Azure Traffic Manager Profile from the drop-down menu.
  2. Choose a resource for which you would like to set a threshold, then click the hamburger icon Hamburger Icon. Select Edit, which will direct you to the Edit Azure Traffic Manager Profile Monitor page.
  3. You can set the threshold values for the metrics by selecting Threshold and Availability. You can also configure IT Automation at the attribute level.
