Azure Synapse Analytics Monitoring Integration

Azure Synapse Analytics brings together data warehousing; data connections; extract, transform, and load pipelines; analytics tools and services; scaling for big data capabilities; visualizations; and dashboards.

With Site24x7's integration, you can now monitor your Azure Synapse Analytics, configure thresholds, and receive alerts about critical issues.

Setup and configuration

You can add Azure Synapse Analytics while adding a new monitor or you can add it to an existing Azure monitor. Follow these steps to add the service.

Supported metrics

Login Attempts The total number of login attempts that succeeded or failed Total Count
Requests Ended The total number of requests that succeeded, failed, or were cancelled Total Count
Activity Runs Ended The total number of integration activities that succeeded, failed, or were cancelled Total Count
Pipeline Runs Ended The total number of integration pipeline runs that succeeded, failed, or were cancelled Total Count
Trigger Runs Ended The total number of integration triggers that succeeded, failed, or were cancelled Total Count
Backlogged Input Events (preview) The number of input events backlogged Total Count
Data Conversion Errors (preview) The total number of output events that could not be converted to the expected output schema. The error policy can be changed to "Drop" to drop the events that encounter this scenario Total Count
Input Deserialization Errors (preview) The total number of input events that could not be deserialized Total Count
Early Input Events (preview) The total number of input events for which the application time is considered early compared to the arrival time, according to the early arrival policy Total Count
Input Event Bytes (preview) The total amount of data received by the streaming job. This can be used to validate the events that are being sent to the input source Total Count

Input Sources Received (preview) The total number of input sources Total Count
Late Input Events (preview) The total number of input events for which the application time is considered late compared to the arrival time, according to the late arrival policy Total Count
Out of Order Events (preview) The total number of Event Hub events (serialized messages) received out of order by the Event Hub Input Adapter that were either dropped or given an adjusted timestamp, based on the event ordering policy Total Count
Output Events (preview) The total number of output events Total Count
Watermark Delay (preview) The output watermark delay Maximum Count
Runtime Errors (preview) The total number of errors related to query processing, excluding errors found while ingesting events or outputting results Total Count

Threshold configuration

Global configuration

  1. In the Site24x7 web client, go to the Admin section on the left navigation pane.
  2. Select Configuration Profiles from the left pane and select the Threshold and Availability (+) tab from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click Add Threshold Profile in the top-right corner.
  4. For Monitor Type, select Azure Synapse Analytics.

Now you can set the threshold values for all the metrics listed above.

Monitor-level configuration

  1. In the Site24x7 web client, go to Cloud > Azure and select Azure Synapse Analytics from the drop-down menu.
  2. Choose a resource you would like to set a threshold for, then click the hamburger icon .
  3. Select Edit, which directs you to the Edit Azure Synapse Analytics Monitor page.
  4. You can set the threshold values for the metrics by selecting Threshold and Availability.

You can also configure IT Automation at the attribute level.
