Thanks for the update.

I've installed the new plugin and its now appearing in the server monitor.

However, it's showing a very large number of 'packages_to_be_updated' and 'security_updates' which does not tally with the number show when queried on the server.

Running commend yum check-update --security returns with "2 package(s) needed for security, out of 6 available".

Am I missing something?

Just a follow-up to the previous post.

Out of interest is there a way for the Software Updates monitor to raise a notice or send an email when a security update is detected?

I've tried to figure it out using a Threshold and Availability Profile or Notification Profile. But nothing springs to mind.

Yes, you can get an alert when there is a security update by configuring a threshold profile for the monitor created. Please follow the steps below:

1. Log in to Site24x7.
2. Go to Server > Plugin Integrations > click on the plugin monitor added. In this case, click on "check_updates.py" monitor.
3. Hover on the hamburger icon beside the monitor display name. Click on Edit.
4. In the Edit Plugin Monitor page, scroll down to the option Threshold and Availability and click on the pencil icon.
5. In the Edit Threshold Profile popup, set threshold values for packages_to_be_updated and security_updates.
6. Save your changes. You will be notified when the configured threshold is violated.
